While She Was Sleeping by Nadia Bond — book cover

There was no time to think. It was now or never. It was the only way out. The only way she could move forward without being forever haunted by her past. Nobody could ever know what she had done. It would destroy her family. And her future.

Two women. One hospital ward. The same tragic night.

On the night Princess Diana died in Paris, two babies were born hours apart in the same maternity ward in Cambridge. Only one of them lived. Ten years later, a single Facebook comment reopens a wound that was never allowed to heal.

Annie has spent half of her life believing she knows what happened to her daughter. Elizabeth has spent it trying to forget. But someone remembers what happened that night — and they're not staying quiet any longer.

The Full Story

What happens when the past won't stay buried

A gripping, emotionally raw domestic suspense for fans of Liane Moriarty, Clare Mackintosh, Adele Parks and Diane Chamberlain.

Both Elizabeth and Annie have spent twenty-five years coming to terms with the events of 31st August, 1997. But neither of them knows the whole truth about the night their lives quietly, irreversibly intersected.

When old wounds resurface — a comment online, a rumour at the school gates, a therapy session gone wrong — both women are forced to confront the events of the night they have spent over two decades trying to forget.

Perfect for readers of The Girl on the Train, Big Little Lies, and The Silent Patient — a story about the secrets families keep, the memories that resurface when we least expect them, and the mothers who'll do anything to protect what's left.
